Wassily Kandinsky. Farbe-Klang-Tanz
In honor of Wassily Kandinsky’s 80th death anniversary, the ZONTA Club Murnau is presenting an evening of music, dance and literature.
Kandinsky (1866-1944) paved revolutionary new paths with his artistic work, which became groundbreaking for 20th-century art. His breakthrough came in 1908 in Murnau, together with Gabriele Münter and friends. In the following years, his painting took on unprecedented forms in Munich and Murnau, leading to the formation of the "Blue Rider" group in 1911, alongside Franz Marc.
Kandinsky's pioneering artistic legacy, which is particularly closely connected to Murnau, provides the occasion for the "Friends of the ZONTA Club Murnau-Staffelsee" to honor this great artist on the 80th anniversary of his death.
The cultural event will explore his life and work through images and written documents by Kandinsky. The music of his time, presented alongside, will be accompanied by dance performances. This unique combination aims to offer a one-of-a-kind tribute to the genius of Kandinsky.
The concept is based on the long-standing expertise of Dr. Brigitte Salmen, former director of the Castle Museum, art historian, and author.
The proceeds from the evening will benefit charitable causes, especially for the promotion of women and girls.
